Great point. I have a feeling that OCPA is working on this and will release some devastating data soon! What is it with all of these people that equate "not for profit" with some kind of "do-gooder" feeling? All it means is that the entity doesn't pay tax!

One can't help but notice the similarity to other "nonprofit" institutions: state universities. As Vance H. Fried, Riata Professor of Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University, pointed out in a recent Cato Institute paper: "Undergraduate education is a highly profitable business for nonprofit colleges and universities. They do not show profits on their books, but instead take their profits in the form of spending on some combination of research, graduate education, low-demand majors, low faculty teaching loads, excess compensation, and featherbedding. The industry's high profits come at the expense of students and taxpayers."
